At a glance
We compare documented alert workflows, not claimed delivery speed or app-store ratings. The best fit depends on whether you need a price rule, a chart condition, or an update about a company. This is a Stocklet-published guide.
| Product | Best fit | Documented options | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| TradingView | Chart and indicator conditions | Alerts on data series, indicators, strategies, and drawings; app notifications can be enabled. | The chart workflow may be more than you need for simple company-event monitoring. Source |
| Yahoo Finance | A broad finance watchlist | News, event, and significant-price-change notifications for followed symbols; custom price alerts are also documented. | Check which alert controls are available on your device and in your region. Source · Additional source |
| Stock Alarm | Price and technical triggers | Price limits, percentage changes, technical indicators, and earnings are described on its product site. | Review which trigger and delivery options require a particular plan. Source |
| Stocklet | Price rules alongside company events | Target price and percentage alerts plus supported earnings, insider, news, and analyst notifications. | Coverage depends on supported stocks and sources; a push alert is not a guaranteed market-tick signal. Source |

Start with the event, not the app ranking
An alert is only useful if it watches the event that would make you review a stock. A target-price rule, a moving-average crossing, an earnings release, and a newly filed insider transaction answer different questions. Write down the event first; then compare the apps that actually document it. A long feature list is less useful than one rule you can configure and understand.
The table above deliberately does not rank Stocklet first. This article is published by Stocklet, so our own product deserves the same scrutiny as the others. Verify current availability, plan limits, and notification permissions in each provider's app before relying on any alert.
Where each app fits
TradingView suits a reader whose alerts start on a chart. Its alert documentation covers indicators and drawing objects as well as data series. If you already build decisions around technical conditions, that flexibility is meaningful.
Yahoo Finance is a familiar place to follow symbols and receive news, event, and price-movement notifications. Its iOS notification help and custom price alert help are better evidence of its current workflow than a third-party feature checklist.
Stock Alarm describes price, percentage, technical, and earnings triggers on its product site. It is a candidate when the exact trigger matters more than a broad research feed. Check current plan limits before comparing a free setup with a paid one.
Stocklet combines selected price rules with supported company-event notifications. That is helpful if you want to know both that a stock moved and whether a filing, earnings release, news item, or analyst action appeared. Stocklet does not execute trades, and availability and delivery time depend on sources, processing, and phone settings. Its price-alert feature page explains the setup.
Compare the details that change the answer
For price alerts, check whether an app offers a fixed target, a percentage move, or chart-based rules. For company events, check the event itself: an earnings calendar reminder is different from a notification after results are published. For any push notification, check whether you can select companies individually and whether the alert opens the underlying information.
The comparison also depends on your phone. The Stocklet iPhone listing is public; verify the current Android listing through the official site before relying on an Android download link. Store availability can differ by region.
A practical choice
Choose TradingView for chart conditions, Yahoo Finance for a general finance watchlist, Stock Alarm for a broad trigger menu, or Stocklet when company events and price rules belong in the same selected-stock workflow. If you only need one alert, start with that condition and test the notification before adding more. Our price-alert guide and watchlist guide explain how to keep those rules useful.
Stocklet provides informational notifications, not investment advice. Alert timing depends on when source information becomes publicly available and is processed.
