Yahoo Finance is the reference product, not a straw man. We compare documented workflows and omit unverified claims about price, speed, and missing features. This is a Stocklet-published guide.
| Product | Best fit | Documented options | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yahoo Finance | Existing Yahoo Finance watchlists | News, event, and significant-price-change notifications for followed symbols; custom target-price alerts are documented separately. | Use its current settings as the baseline before considering a switch. Source · Additional source |
| TradingView | Chart conditions | Alerts can use price data, indicators, strategies, and drawings. | A chart-centric setup may be unnecessary for simple company updates. Source |
| Stock Alarm | Price and technical trigger variety | Its product site describes price, percentage, technical, and earnings triggers. | Check current membership limits for the rules you want. Source · Additional source |
| Stocklet | Selected-company price and event monitoring | Target and percentage price rules alongside supported earnings, insider, news, and analyst events. | Coverage and notification timing depend on available sources and processing. Source |

Keep Yahoo Finance if it already solves the job
An alternative is useful only when it changes your workflow for the better. Yahoo Finance documents push notifications for followed symbols and custom price alerts. If those controls cover your watchlist, there is no reason to move solely because another app has a longer feature list.
Choose a different tool for a specific gap
TradingView is worth examining when your condition begins on a chart. Its alert setup documentation describes indicators and drawings as well as data-series alerts.
Stock Alarm describes a broad set of price and technical triggers. Compare the exact rule you need, along with current membership limits, rather than treating all “price alerts” as equivalent.
Stocklet is a candidate when you want selected companies monitored for both price thresholds and supported company events. Its price alert page and insider alert page show the distinction. Stocklet is informational and does not execute trades; source coverage and phone settings affect delivery.
Move one alert before moving a whole watchlist
Pick one meaningful stock and configure the same task in your current app and the candidate alternative. Compare the event definition, the notification that arrives, and how easily you can inspect the source. Then decide whether to move more alerts. Stocklet provides informational notifications, not investment advice. Alert timing depends on when source information becomes publicly available and is processed.
